What is a Heat Pump?

A heat pump is a 2-in-1 HVAC system that can heat and cool your home. It has an outdoor unit like a central air conditioner condenser.
It works the same way a central air conditioner works, only in reverse. Heat pumps are powered by electricity but use far less of it than an electric baseboard or electric forced air furnace. A heat pump can move several units of heat with only a single unit of electricity.
Therefore, it’s a very efficient and cost-effective way to heat your home. It also acts like an air conditioner, transferring heat out of your home,
so you don’t need to buy a separate AC unit.
